Crosbyton ISD – Two (2) 50 KW Wind Turbine Installation

The Crosbyton Independent School District (ISD) is located approximately 40 miles due east of Lubbock, in Crosby County, Texas. The Crosbyton ISD serves the community of Crosbyton also in a rural county setting. Crosbyton ISD has two 50KW wind turbines, which were installed, on the west side of the school campus. The wind turbines are also mounted on two individual one hundred foot (100’) lattice towers, and are enclosed with security fencing.

The Crosbyton school district also became interested in utilizing power from a renewable energy source after they became aware of and studied the success that the Dawson ISD had in reducing their costs of energy by using wind turbines.
