Dawson ISD – One (1) 50 KW Wind Turbine Installation

The Dawson Independent School District (ISD) is located approximately 60 miles south-southwest of Lubbock, in Dawson County, Texas. The Dawson ISD serves the community of Welch also in a rural county setting. Dawson ISD has one 50KW wind turbine which has the distinction of being the first commercial wind turbine installed at a school district in the state of Texas. The wind turbine was installed on the west side of the school campus to the south of the football stadium. The wind turbines are mounted on a single one hundred foot (100’) lattice tower, and are enclosed with security fencing.
