Morton ISD – One (1) 50 KW Wind Turbine Installation

The city of Morton is located approximately 80 miles west of Lubbock, in Cochran county, Texas. The Morton ISD has one 50KW wind turbine, which was installed, on the west side of the school campus on the edge of town. The wind turbine is mounted on a lattice tower.

The school district became interested in utilizing power from a renewable energy source after they became aware of and studied the success that the Shallowater ISD had in reducing their costs of energy by using wind turbines.
