Springlake-Earth ISD – Two (2) 50 KW Wind Turbine Installation

The Springlake-Earth Independent School District (ISD) is located approximately sixty (60) miles northwest of Lubbock, in Lamb County, Texas. The Springlake-Earth ISD serves the communities of Springlake and Earth in a rural county setting. Springlake-Earth has two 50KW wind turbines, which were installed, on the west side of the school campus to the northwest of the football stadium. Both wind turbines are mounted on hundred foot (100’) lattice towers, and are enclosed with chain link fencing.

The Springlake-Earth school district became interested in utilizing power from a renewable energy source after they became aware of and studied the success that the Shallowater ISD had in reducing their costs of energy by using wind turbines.
